L. Robert “Doc” Fallot

Doc Fallot was a pioneer in the field of Sports Medicine. He originally practiced medicine in Amityville and later in Hampton Bays. He gave countless hours of service to Long Island athletes and provided medical care to any athlete in need, without concern for the athlete’s economic capabilities. Doc cared for all athletes but had a particular fondness for wrestlers. Doc was a mat-side fixture at county and state wrestling tournaments and is remembered by countless wrestlers, coaches, and parents for the onsite treatment of injuries in schools across Long Island. The contribution made by Doc, to the health and well-being of athletes, and to the field of sports medicine is immeasurable. In March 2007, “Doc” Fallot was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame for his lifetime service to wrestling.

L. Robert “Doc” Fallot Scholarship Fund

The scholarship fund originated in 1993, after Doc Fallot’s passing. There is one recipient who is a scholastic wrestler in Suffolk County and receives a $5000 scholarship. This wrestler is selected by the Suffolk County Wrestling Coaches Association. It is quite an honor to receive this scholarship! Two scholarships are also awarded to the outstanding male and female athletes of Hampton Bays High School. Scholarships may be available for years to come.

To date, we have awarded over $120,000 in scholarships.
